From the Chief Executive

Leaving the client stronger than we found them.

I have spent my career on the side of this work that does not photograph well: the months after the strategy is signed off, when an organisation has to actually become something different.

It is unglamorous and it is where everything is decided. A structure chart can be redrawn in a week. Getting four hundred people to work differently inside it takes eighteen months, and it fails quietly if nobody stays to hold it.

That is the choice we made when we built this practice. We take fewer engagements than we could, we put senior people on them for longer than is commercially comfortable, and we agree the measure of success in writing before we start. It is a harder business model. It is also why most of our clients are repeat clients.

I am also direct with clients about what we will not claim. Our human capital framework is new, and we say so. Our case studies carry a baseline or they do not carry a number. When an entity asks us to write an excellence submission rather than build the capability behind it, we say no and occasionally lose the work.

If you are carrying something that has to change, tell us what it is rather than asking what we offer. The answer follows from the problem, and the first ninety minutes are on us.
